Holidays to Sharm el Sheikh

Sharm el Sheikh is one of the most popular tourist resorts in Egypt offering the country's best coastline with beautiful coral reefs, clear warm waters, sandy beaches and fantastic marine attractions. It is perfect for sun-seeking tourists and offers a great choice of watersport facilities including scuba diving and snorkelling.

Around the city of Sharm el Sheikh are many places of historical and religious interest. These include The Burning Bush at St Catherine's monastery, which is in the bible to have burned as God spoke to Moses for the first time.

It was in the tenth century that the Bush was replanted and the chapel was given a roof. Since then its great religious and historical significance has made it one of the most visited and photographed landmarks in the city. It is open 24 hours at no charge.

No visitors to Sharm el Sheikh should miss a visit to Mount Sinai, the mountain top where Moses is said in the Old Testament to have received the Ten Commandments. It is also the name of the group of peaks known as The Holy Mountains. Another peak is Mount Moses, of religious significance to Moslems as it is the place where Mohammed's horse rose up to heaven. Visitors can climb the steps to reach the top or follow a winding path eastwards from the monastery.

Of particular beauty is Naama Bay a main tourist attraction in the area, noted for its incredible views, tropical fish, wild life and watersports. It is open daily and there is no charge for admission.

On the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula and 20 km (12 miles) from central Sharm el Sheikh lies the Ras Muhammad Natural Park, established in 1983 to protect the coral reefs and offering a valuable opportunity to snorkelers and scuba divers to swim underwater amidst amazing underwater scenery.

Scuba Diving Sharm El Sheikh

How easy is a PADI diving course? urgent help needed please?

I'm 15 and went scuba diving for the first time in the Caribbean almost 2 years ago now.
It was great fun and i've decided that i want to get my PADI certificate, the problem being that i'm going to Sharm-El-Sheikh in about a month's time so my instructor recommends doing an "open water referral" course where i do the work and pool dives in England at the pool and then when i go to egypt i finish off the sea dives there.
this means that i have to read all the books really fast (i'm in the middle of mock gcse's right now) and i was wondering how hard/long it takes to read everything and then pass the exams?

only helpful comments please i'm getting quite stressed.

thanks x

It's nothing to stress about. The class is easy I passed it 5years ago when I was twelve and I'm already a certified master diver. And I'm not really the brightest kid. The book took about a week and a half to read and there are mini tests in it that help practice for the big test. All of the things you have to do in the water, your instructor or dive master will show you exactly what to do. So you shouldn't stress it will be easy
