What is the best reef to dive off Port Douglas QLD.?
i wouldnt say that Batt Reef is the best reef to dive off of Port Douglas...also the fact the Steve Irwin was killed there will mean that more and more tourists will choose to dive there which will damage the reef...
some little known, but fabulous reefs include...Split-Bommie, Agincourt reef and Barracuda Pass...also Upolo and Michaelmas cays and Saxon reef
take a walk along the Esplanade (the main street along the waterfront in the city) and check out the many, many, many dive companies that will take you out there...
just do everyone a favour, educate yourself about the reef before you take your trip...when i moved to Cairns over 20 years ago the reef was spectacular, words cant describe how disappointing its been to watch the reef disappear due to tourists not being educated and not caring for the reef as they should when they visit...dont step on or touch the coral...
