Where are some good places to scuba dive in or off Indonesia?
It doesn't matter where or which type of diving. It would be better if it were off the beaten track. If you don't want to tell everyone can you just message me? Thanks.
Bali has so many choices. Not just the Island itself but the surrounding islands have unspoiled areas that are not terribly touristed.

Raja Ampat and Sulawesi are off the beaten track enough and should suit your needs.
Alternatively, liveaboard cruises in Indonesia are always a top choice for those who want to see more than any land-based stay can offer. Liveaboards can take you around the best of Northern Sulawesi, east from Bali to the legendary island of Komodo, Wakatobi, or into the inspiring frontier territory of the Banda Sea and Irian Jaya.
It just depends on how much you want to spend. The live-a-boards are very cool but pricey.

And if you want cheap... you can dive right off the beach at Blue Lagoon in Padang Bai. Great coral and amazingly clear water with game fish just off the point. I free dive here a lot and am always amused at the dive boats that show up. They are paying big bucks and I am out there having a ball and my cost is only the price of the cocktails that I drink when I go in for a break on the beach.
