Road Trip from Melbourne to Brisbane - What to do and where to stay?

Myself and two friends (one male and one female so far) are driving from Melbourne to Brisbane for a few weeks R&R. What should we do and where should we stay in the following locations??????

*Coffs Harbor
*Gold Coast
*Brisbane
*Great Barrier Reef area
*Dubbo (return journey)
