Scuba Diving Lessons

SCUBA diving lessons?

hey

i have been taking lessons for a while now and i really enjoy it. I saw a person using one of those full face masks (the one where you breath through nose and mouth), and i thought i would really like to try one. When in the SCUBA course will i get to practise with one. Currently i am doing the first basic course, so is it in the next level up course or do i do it in this one soon?

thanks

You won't be going anywhere near a full face unless you or your local dive shop has bought one. They aren't cheap. There actually is a course taught on them but it's usually held by a manufactuer's representative (usually one of your local dive shop's distributors), since these types of rig are all a little different. It's not a "sanctioned" dive agency course. There is no C card to receive. Some rigs are bare bones, some have an integrated heads up display for a built in dive computer and some also feature a full communicator set up. If you purchase one, the company rep will likely be the one to give you instruction on it, unless one of the instructors at your shop is familiar with that particular model.
The only prerequisite you'll need is your open water cert.
