Scuba Divers!?

Okay so i kinda need to know how to scuba dive soon.
& i've never done it before.
So what sould i know? Tip for a beginner such as myself?
How long did it take you to feel comfortable scuba diving? is hard?

You will need to take a certification class before doing any open water scuba diving. Breathing compressed air under water poses certain risks and hazards that can be significantly reduced with the proper knowledge and training.

There are 'resort course' scuba lessons that allow you to dive, but only with a certified instructor along with you.

I have been a certified diver since 1980 and have gone on hundreds of dives. It's a great sport and a great chance to see part of the world not frequently visited by humans (the undersea realm!). It's fun!

But to do it safely takes training. You should be a respectable swimmer, and feel confident in the water. You will need to have several dives before you start feeling comfortable with all the gear you have to wear; that depends on each individual, some take longer than others.

Again, the only way to really answer your question would be to take paragraphs and paragraphs. It's better if you take the certification course. Diving is not difficult. Most recreational diving is not particularly strenuous. With proper training the safety precautions become 'second nature' and are not at all intrusive or difficult.

If you can, try snorkeling (skin diving) first. That will help give you an introduction and start you out with some of the fundamental skills, like kicking with fins and breathing through a snorkle.
