Where are the best scuba dive sites in Indonesia?
'best' is subjective but I have dived in only 2 main areas in Indonesia - Manado and Bali.
Manado has up to 35+ dive sites including those near Bunaken, excluding the Lembek Straits. Since I dived in November, visibility wasn't amazing but clear enough. I'd say average viz was about 15m. Most of the dive sites at Manado are suitable for beginners.
Bali was amazing as well and again I dived in December and thus visibility wasn't great. Average viz was about 10m. Each dive was really amazing and i saw my first shark. in fact on the last day, I saw 1 white tip reef on the first dive, 2 on the second and 5 on the last dive. Really cool stuff.
I heard the Lembek Straits are really good too and I'm hoping to dive there soon. Indonesia has a plethora of beautiful dive sites and it's really hard to say which is the best.
