What excursions can you do from Sharm El Sheikh?

This is for anyone who has been, who can tell me a little bit about what trips can be done from Sharm, with costs if possible.
I am travelling in September and am aware of the obvious snorkelling, scuba diving etc, but want to get out and see some culture. We definitely want to do the pyramids, but are not sure of prices.

you can go to St Catherine's Monastery by a bus tour .
this Monastery has bushes from the time of Moses .
nearby is the Mountain where Moses received the Commandments .

if you take a boat to Ras Mohamed , you can enjoy the best snorkeling , and have lunch and soft drinks during a half day cruise .

if you take the plane / bus you can go to Cairo to see the Pyramids , the Sphinx , Sakkara Step Pyramid .
you can have an evening Nile Cruise with show and dinner , you can visit the Museum as well.
