Swim With Sharks In Australia
Australia is probably not the first place that comes into mind if you think about swimming with sharks. But actually Australia is a great place to swim and dive with sharks.
You can do everything from a simple one-day aquarium shark dive to a several-day live-aboard shark diving tour. You can also do cage diving in Australia.
Does scuba diving among wobbygong sharks and grey nurse sharks sounds interesting? Then the South West Rocks is the place to go. The area is rarely affected by current and you can dive close to sheer walls that plunge to an average depth of 30 meters. No wonder why the dive site is voted among the ten best in Australia.
But if you want even more excitement you can try the largest thrill of them all: great white shark diving. And instead of going to the more well-known place South Africa, you can do this special type of scuba diving in Australia.
It is possible to go on a great white shark diving expedition from Sydney. But Adelaide and Port Lincoln in South Australia is more popular departure points from tour dive sites with great white sharks.
Both places are great departure points from live-aboard expeditions to great white shark diving spots. From either Adelaide or Port Lincoln you sail to the Southern Ocean around the Neptune Islands. And even though you are doing the trip to see the great white shark, you can also find a lot of other interesting animals like dolphins, fur seals and many bird species. Even the beautiful and rare Australian sea lion can be seen around the islands.
So if always have wanted to try a great white shark cage dive; and you are on vacation, Australia is a great place to try it for the first time.
A more easy and convenient way to dive with sharks is an aquarium shark dive. Australia has several places, where to can do this kind of shark diving. Sydney, Melbourne and the Sunshine Coast are the best places.
If you are not a certified diver you will normally be offered and introduction to diving in a pool (certified divers can skip this part). After the introduction to diving and the sharks, you can start the actual shark dive in the big tanks of the aquarium. Sometimes you can even feed the sharks. If they like, your family and friends can watch the dive from outside.
So an aquarium shark dive is a great way to have a close encounter with this amazing species without it haves to be a great white shark.
If you are going to Australia, you can have a great shark dive; no matter if you choose the ultimate great white shark dive or a more normal aquarium shark dive.shark diving, swimming with sharks, sharks, diving, scuba
